Thomson wins Russian DTT contract

RTRSThomson Broadcast is to supply transmitters for Russia’s second DTT multiplex.
According to the French company, it has been chosen to supply the transmitters to Trade House Sviaz Engineering, the contractor appointed to deploy the multiplex operated by RTRS.
The project will unfold over three years and see hundreds of Thomson Broadcast transmitters from the Elite and Futhura ranges deployed across Russia, with ones from 23W to 10KW supplied in the first year.
Reports in the Russia media suggest that Thomson Broadcast and Trade House Sviaz Engineering are looking into the possibility of cooperating in the deployment of DTT networks in CIS countries.
