Croatian pay-TV market grows

Croatia remains one of the leading IPTV markets in Central and Eastern Europe, ending the second quarter with 379,487 subscribers to services.
According to data published by the regulator HAKOM, this was 2.16% more than the previous quarter and 7.61% higher than a year earlier.
However, growth in the take-up of DTH services was even stronger, the 118,356 take-up figure being 4.25% higher than three months earlier and 21.23% up on 12 months earlier.
On the other hand, the cable subscriber total of 149,977 was a modest 2.02% and 3.09% up on the previous quarter and year respectively.
Significantly, pay-DTT, which was introduced in Croatia only at the end of last year, is growing in popularity.
It ended Q2 with 14,514 subscribers, or 34.76% more than three months earlier. At the same time, the number of homes receiving DTT services continues to fall, the total of 833,374 at the end of Q2 being 2.29% and 7.4% lower than three months and a year earlier respectively.

Total revenues from TV services in Q2 amounted to HRK132,919,010 (€17,559,400), which was 3.94% more than in Q1 and 18.33% more than a year earlier.
