TEN Sports hopes to get USD 19.2 million in revenue from cricket series

TEN Sports, one of the top sports networks in Asia is hoping to make as much as USD 19.2 million in revenue in matter of just days in India during the broadcast of the upcoming India-South Africa cricket test series. The series will be played between December 5 and December 26.
The network has already roped in 13 different brands to sponsor the series and is confident that audiences in India will tune in. Rajesh Sethi, CEO, TEN Sports, said,  “Whether it’s sports enthusiasts or experts, this series is being viewed by all with much interest as it is a fresh beginning for Team India following Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement. We have sold close to 90% of the ad inventory.”
Started in 2002, the network is owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited. However TEN Sports isn’t the only network fighting for audience numbers. Star Sports India has announced that it will be spending USD 3.2 billion on expansion of its coverage exclusively in India. Star Sports India is also fighting with a few MSOs over claims about illegal transmission of games.
