Mongolian DTH operator DDishTV will be carrying a new lifestyle network ‘TV5MONDE Style HD’ for the first time in the country. This is the first time that France’s TV5MONDE has entered into distribution deal in the region.
Around 150,000 subscribers in Mongolia can now access the new lifestyle channel via DDishTV. The DTH company currently beams TV5MONDE Asie in Mongolia.
“The modern European culture was introduced to Mongolia’s nomadic country by Soviet Union at the beginning of the 20th century. Even though there is still a language deficit, people look forward to Western and French culture, especially fashion and lifestyle. We are glad to introduce [for the] first time [a] modern, real French lifestyle channel in our International Package with great support [from the] TV5MONDE team,” said Ganbold Dendev, general director of DDishTV, reports World Screen Asia.
Recently, Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company or AsiaSat, had announced that it will be carrying the French lifestyle channel from TV5Monde. The channel is available in Africa and the Middle-East via ArabSat. The channel shows programmes on fashion, design and food trends
