The Russian cable operator Akado Telekom has introduced a set-top box employing the cardless system from Verimatrix.
The device, which costs subscribers R2,500 (€51.85), includes in-built MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 decoders, as well as a CI+ slot and allows for the reception of Akado’s digital TV services.
Akado was established in 1995 and provides TV and broadband services in Moscow and Moscow region.
