Indonesia’s APMI asks govt to check illegal pay-TV operations

Indonesian Multimedia Businessmen Association’s (APMI) Secretary General, Arya Mahendra, has urged the Indonesian government to control operational license in the pay-TV market and curb illegal operations.
“The government is expected to limit the issued license and organise the operators well in running their business activities. There are even TV operators who steal broadcasts from official operators, connected to their customers and make routine payment every month,” stated Arya Mahendra.
Incumbent and legal pay-TV operators are incurring loss losses and are facing reduction in new customer potential due to a few service providers who are operating without an official licence, added Arya.
