Spain ended 2014 with 5,059,971 pay-TV subscribers, or 76% more than the 3,845,378 posted a year earlier, according to data produced by the regulator CNMC.
Telefónica was the market leader with 1,881,457 (741,126) a showed the sharpest growth, followed by DTS (1,696,585 v 1,649,031) and Ono (783,887 v 789,895).
Meanwhile, pay-TV revenues in Q4 2014 amounted to €485.01 million, up from €422.31 million in the same period in 2013.
DTS accounted for the lion’s share (€306.79 million v €293.07 million), followed by Telefónica (€108.60 million v €53.04 million), Ono (€36.07 million v €35.95 million) and others (€33.56 million v €40.25 million).
