Indonesia’s newest satellite operator, IMTV, selected NAGRA MediaAccess as primary CAS partner to secure the launch of the operator’s premium content service
CHESEAUX, Switzerland — NAGRA, the digital TV division of the Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) and the world’s leading independent provider of content protection and multiscreen television solutions, announced today that Indonesia’s newest satellite television provider, IMTV (PT Indonesia Media Televisi), a Lippo Group company, has selected NAGRA’s conditional access technology to secure the content being delivered over their network. IMTV offers a combination of pay-TV and freeview channels with a focus on local and localized content and aimed at the growing middle-class population in Indonesia. NAGRA MediaAccess is being used to protect the operator’s premium content.

IMTV is owned by the Lippo Group which also owns LinkNet, a Jakarta-based cable provider and current NAGRA conditional access customer serving 400,000 subscribers.
According to media research company Media Partners Asia, Ltd, there will be 318 million new television subscribers in Asia by 2020, five percent of which will be in Indonesia.
