Huawei Technologies and Global Union Network Technology, a subsidiary of China International Broadcasting Network (CIBN), have planned to launch an over-the-top television service.
The companies will leverage the Chinese OTT market with the help of Huawei’s technical expertise in telecom, content resources from Youku Tudou and CIBN’s integrated broadcast and control platform.
CIBN has also formed a TV entertainment alliance with Youku Tudou, Unity Software and others to develop OTT STB-based gaming business and open up the overseas OTT market.
Besides this deal, Huawei has won bids to provide OTT platform solutions and OTT terminals for telecom operators in about ten provinces including Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan and Jiangxi.
