Russia’s Rostelecom ended 2015 with 8.6 million pay-TV subscribers, an 8% increase on a year earlier.
Of these, 3.4 million, or 26% more than a year earlier, received IPTV services.
In its latest set of results, the company notes that following a post-audit review the annual growth figures were slightly higher, at 9% and 27% respectively.
Rostelecom also notes that while its revenue decreased by 0.5% year-on-year to R297.4 billion (€3.8 billion) in 2015, growth in the IPTV base helped revenues from TV services increase by 27%. The revenues were also boosted by a rise in the consumption of VOD services and higher ARPU.
Rostelecom’s OIBDA in 2015 amounted to R100.8 billion (-2%), while its net income was R14.4 billion (+9%).
In his comments, Sergei Kalugin, president of Rostelecom, revealed that the company would launch a national quad-play offer this year.
