Russia may shortly see the launch of a privately owned DTT multiplex.
According to Kommersant, the entrepreneur Yevgeny Roitman has applied for frequencies to operate such a multiplex, which would interest niche channels that failed to secure slots on Russia’s first two state-owned multiplexes, or indeed Rostelecom, the leading provider of cable services in Moscow.
It adds that such a multiplex would use frequencies previously reserved for DVB-H services.
