Poland ended 2012 with around 11 million pay-TV subscribers.
Of these, 32%, or 3.56 million, opted for services provided by Cyfrowy Polsat, according to research undertaken by the DTH platform and published by Media2.
The other DTH platforms – Cyfra+ and n have since merged to form nc+ – claimed 25%, or around 2.5 million subscribers, while cable accounted for 41%, or around 4.6 million subscribers.
IPTV services, provided by the incumbent Telekomunikacja Polska (Orange), alternative telco Netia and others, meanwhile claimed a 2% market share.
All told, according to AC Nielsen data, some 66% of homes in Poland opted for some form of pay-TV as of the end of last year.
