DIGI Slovakia to offer CI Plus CAM from SmarDTV

SmarDTV Provides DIGI Slovakia SMARCAM-3.5 CI PLUS Conditional Access Module to Access its Pay-TV Services

CHESEAUX, Switzerland — SmarDTV, a Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) company, today announced that DIGI Slovakia, a subsidiary of Slovak Telekom and the country’s largest multimedia operator, offering services based on Cable, Satellite, OTT and IPTV in Slovakia, is set to launch a CI Plus conditional access modules (CAM) in its network.

SmarDTV’s SmarCAM-3.5 modules embed the latest generation of the NAGRA anyCAST conditional access system which secures DIGI Slovakia pay-TV services since 2014, ensuring highest security for its digital DIGI Pay-TV offering. Thanks to the SmarCAM-3.5 module, these channels are directly accessible on integrated Digital Televisions (iDTVs) with the original TV remote control. SCART or HDMI cables or power leads are no longer needed.

VTVCab subscribers can now enjoy high quality content directly on their new Samsung Cable TV model without using a set-top box by simply inserting the newly developed CI Plus Instant Access conditional access module (CAM) from VTVCab. This CAM replaces the role of a traditional set-top box and provides an attractive alternative to new subscribers as they migrate to digital services.

CONSAT Enhances its Product Offering in Nigeria with Conditional Access Modules by SmarDTV

After a successful launch in 2014 using NAGRA anyCAST content protection and following the continued adoption of digital TV services in Nigeria, the operator’s pay-TV service, CONSAT TV, will soon be available to any owner of a Integrated Digital Televisions (IDTVs) incorporating a CI+ interface.

Echostar partners with Nagra in SmarDTV

Kudelski Group and EchoStar have signed an agreement whereby EchoStar will become a shareholder in SmarDTV SA, the subsidiary of Kudelski SA that offers advanced set-top boxes and conditional access modules.

As part of the transaction, EchoStar’s operations in Steeton, UK and Madrid, Spain will be transferred to SmarDTV.

SmarDTV will build on the heritage of Nagra, Conax and OpenTV, as well as EchoStar’s engineering and technology capabilities, to facilitate joint commercial activities. This will enable SmarDTV to deliver a broad portfolio of consumer devices to the TV broadcasting and broadband markets, including gateways, set-top boxes and conditional access modules, combined with Kudelski technologies for security, middleware and user experience.
