Ecuador adds 140,000 pay TV subscribers in 2015

QUITO — Ecuador’s Agencia de Regulación y Control de las Telecomunicaciones (ARCOTEL) has released pay TV statistics for the country to the end of 2015. Ecuador finished the year with 1,351,470 pay TV subscribers, up 140,895 versus the end of 2014.

Ecuador's CNT TV adds 138,211 subscribers in 2015

QUITO — Ecuador’s Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT) has said that it added 138,211 subscribers to its CNT TV service during 2015, to end the year with 351,640. The DTH service, which launched four years ago, now has 26% of the market.

CNT TV is available throughout Ecuador, including on the Galapagos Islands where it is that province’s only provider of pay TV services.

Ecuador adds 53,128 pay TV subscribers in 4Q 2014

QUITO — Ecuador’s Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUPERTEL) has released pay TV statistics for the country to the end of 2014. Ecuador finished the year with 1,210,575 pay TV subscribers, up 53,128 (4.59%) in the quarter, driven by growth in satellite subscriptions.

DIRECTV leads Ecuador's pay TV market in 2Q 2014

QUITO — Ecuador’s Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUPERTEL) has released pay TV statistics for the top 10 pay TV operators in the country to the end of June 2014. These operators cover 80% of the market.

DIRECTV’s satellite service was the leader with a share of 35% (391 thousand subscribers). CAN TV was second with a share of 20% (217 thousand subscribers).

Ecuador's CNT TV ends June with 228,188 subscribers

QUITO — Ecuador’s Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT) has said that it ended June with 228,188 subscribers to its CNT TV service. The service, which launched two and a half years ago now has 18% of the market.

CNT TV has a range of packages including a PLAN SÚPER in standard definition offering 71 channels, and a PLAN PLUS HD DVR package which adds 15 channels in high definition, and includes a personal video recorder.

Ecuador adds 443 thousand pay TV subscribers in 2013

Ecuador’s Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUPERTEL) has released pay TV statistics for the country at the end of December 2013. There were 944 thousand subscribers in the Republic at that date, up from 849 thousand at the end of September 2013, and up from 501 thousand at the end of 2012.

Ecuador’s Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUPERTEL) has released pay TV statistics for the country at the end of June 2013. There were 741 thousand subscribers in the Republic at that date, up from 685 thousand at the end of March, and up from 455 thousand at the same time in 2012.
